What we keep, why, and how to take it with you or erase it.
Effective
Grimora (“we”, “us”) runs this website and is responsible for the information described here (its “controller”, in data protection terms).
This policy covers the website, the API behind it and any Grimora apps. Questions? Contact us.
Only what Grimora needs to work. No email address, phone number or real name is required.
A photo is optional. Without one, your sigil stands in.
Public pages can appear in search engines, and recent posts are listed in our sitemap to help them. A shared link shows a preview image of the post. Copies that search engines, AI crawlers or other sites make are outside our control and may linger after you delete something.
Your path and your posts can reveal religious or philosophical beliefs, which many laws treat as especially sensitive. Here’s how we treat them:
Only to run Grimora and keep it safe:
And what we don’t do:
Where laws like the GDPR apply, every use needs a legal reason. Ours are:
Two providers run parts of Grimora for us, and may use your information only to do that:
If you email us, our email provider handles your message.
Our fonts are served from our own site, so your browser never contacts Google or any other font, analytics or advertising service.
Beyond that, we share information only when the law requires it or to protect someone from serious harm. If Grimora ever changes hands, this policy will still cover what you shared under it.
Our servers and database are in the United States, so that’s where your information is stored and processed, wherever you use Grimora from.
When it comes from places with their own rules for this, such as the EU, the UK or Switzerland, we rely on our providers’ data processing terms, which include the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
Wherever you live, you can do these yourself, anytime:
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR or California’s CCPA), the law also gives you the right to:
We don’t sell or share personal information for advertising, so there’s nothing to opt out of.
For anything else, contact us. We’ll reply within a month, and may first check that the request comes from you. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach puts your information at risk, we’ll tell you, and the authorities where required, without undue delay.
Grimora is for people 13 and older, or older still where your country sets a higher age for using services like this without a parent’s consent (16 in some EU countries).
We don’t knowingly collect information from younger children. If you think a child is using Grimora, contact us and we’ll delete the account.
When we update this policy, we’ll post it here with a new effective date. If a change matters, we’ll tell you in Grimora before it takes effect, and we’ll never start using what you’ve already shared in a new way without telling you first (and asking, where the law requires it).
Our contact address is coming soon.
Until then, Settings lets you see, download and delete everything, and Report, on every post, reply and profile, reaches the people who look after Grimora.
