Prayer

Post by Grace Adeyemi

Evensong tonight, and the Nunc Dimittis: 'Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace.' I've sung it a hundred times. Tonight was the first time I thought of Mum while singing it and still made it to the end. Just.

Made it to the end. That is everything, sister. May she rest in peace.

Simeon waited his whole life in the Temple for one moment of seeing. I'll pray for your mother tonight.
